When my kindergarten teacher asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said, "Architect!" Although I'm not sure I am grown up yet, I am an architect, and I love it! With a general contractor as a step-father, I really learned how things go together, and did a LOT of building. This was easily the most important experience of my life and professional career. As an architect and designer, this practical experience has influenced the quality and craftsmanship of my projects.
I continued to build while I earned a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Design and Master's in Architecture from the University of Colorado. I also studied Historic Preservation at the University of Hawai'i. In 2006, I became a licensed architect, and in 2007, a LEED Accredited Professional.
With over 20 years experience in the building and design industry, I have been a builder, designer, project manager, construction administrator and business partner. Now, as an architect with the fast-growing Energy Vanguard, I am doing something very meaningful with my experience. My roles include providing the highest level of quality assurance, technical services and training that clients have come to expect from Energy Vanguard. I also head up the architecture and design services to provide custom designed and pre-packaged energy efficient house plans.
My portfolio includes over 5,000,000 square feet of residential and commercial projects all over the country. I work to provide the highest level customer service, quality assurance and innovation.
P.S. While I am passionate about most things built, I also love to spend hours on my road bike. Here is a picture of me with my Team in Training group at Lake Tahoe in 2007 where we raised over $25,000 and rode 100 miles for The Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Yes, that is a Pink Flamingo on our helmets (we were all from Florida)
