Chris Laumer-Giddens - Architect | HERS Rater | HVAC Designer | LEED AP

When my kindergarten teacher asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said, "Architect!" Although I'm not sure I am grown up yet, I am an architect, and I love it! With a general contractor as a step-father, I really learned how things go together, and have done a LOT of building. This was by far the most influential experience of my life and professional career. As an architect and designer, this practical experience has inspired the quality and craftsmanship in my projects.

I continued to build while I earned a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Design and Master's in Architecture from the University of Colorado. I also studied Historic Preservation at the University of Hawai'i. In 2006, I became a licensed architect, a LEED Accredited Professional in 2007, and a certified HERS Rater in 2010.

With over 20 years experience in the building and design industry, I have been a builder, designer, project manager, construction administrator, trainer and business partner. Now, as an architect and HERS Rater with the fast-growing Energy Vanguard, I am doing something very meaningful with my experience. I provide complete integrated design services, which includes complete architectural, HVAC, structural, electrical and plumbing design. As a part of each design in incoroporate a comprehensive building science, or house-as-a-system approach that includes energy efficiency, durability, performance, and beauty.

My portfolio includes over 5,000,000 square feet of residential and commercial projects throughout the country. I work to provide the highest level customer service, quality assurance and innovation.

P.S. While I am passionate about most things built, I also love to spend hours on my road bike. Here is a picture of me with my Team in Training group at Lake Tahoe in 2007 where we raised over $25,000 and rode 100 miles for The Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
