Energy Vanguard President Invited to Join ACI Program Committee
Allison Bailes, Energy Vanguard's founder and president, has accepted an invitation to join the program committee for Affordable Comfort's national conference. The committee reviews proposals for presentations, develops new sessions, and helps with planning the overall content of the conference to ensure that attendees get the most out of it.
"I love the Affordable Comfort conference! When I went to my first one, I was a relatively new home performance contractor and came away with a lot of new knowledge that had an immediate impact on my business," reported Bailes. "I'm pleased and honored to join the program committee."
Affordable Comfort, Inc. (ACI) held its first conference in 1986, and its mission is simple: "To advance the performance of residential buildings." They do that through hosting the big national conference along with several smaller, regional conferences. The national conference attracted over 2000 attendees this year in San Francisco. The 2012 conference will be in Baltimore and likely will set a new attendance record. Here's what the ACI conference website says about the sessions next year:
The building science experts at the 2012 ACI National Home Performance Conference present weatherization and home performance information with a reality-based focus. ACI has a reputation for quality presenters that surpass expectations. One reason for that is that ACI is not only concerned with the physical aspects of a dwelling, but also with the quality of life for the people who live in them.
In early September, the program committee will gather for a two-day retreat in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to begin the planning process for the 2012 conference. At the retreat, members will review session proposals, organize talks into the various tracks, and coordinate all the many tasks that must be completed for the conference.
